Moroccan wedding blanket "Chefchaouen" These sequinned Moroccan wedding blankets, or "handira", are woven from sheeps wool, cotton and linen by the Berbers of the Middle Atlas in North Morocco. The are made by the bride's family and are worn by the bride as a cape, both during the wedding ceremony and on the journey to the new marital home. They have become very popular as bed throws.
