For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1998 Parker Centennial Duofold Fountain Pen in Red Marble and Gold Trim. I have disassembled the fountain pen to clean and polish it and now is back in fabulous writing condition.
The barrel and cap are gorgeous with beautiful red marbled color and gold-plated trim. There are absolutely no nicks, chips, cracks, or repairs to the pen.
The threads on the cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Duofold is a Centennial Size that measures 5 3/8" inches in length capped and 6 7/8" posted. This Parker Duofold has a date code stamp on the back of the cap of "IE" for 1998 in the 3rd Quarter date code. Also, the area is stamped with Parker and Made in U.K.
This Parker Centennial has a juicy 18K Two-Tone Broad nib. The nib/feed is designated 89 which is numbered on the back of the feed. The 89 coded nib is known as a Broad Oblique 18K nib for right-handers. The 2-tone NIB is in fantastic condition and writes smoothly with a wet line! The actual writing portion (iridium) of the Parker NIB measures roughly 1.23mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a .73mm medium line on the horizontal stroke to 1.51mm double broad on the vertical stroke with medium pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.
The ink converter is a factory Parker and ready for your ink. I have tested the ink converter with water and operates as it should.
